Hello, i'm non even sure if i picked the right topic. But that doesn't matter. Google chrome keeps freezing, whenever i play YouTube videos. It started when i got my new computer. (Last November.)
Whenever i go to play a YouTube, the video it freezes up. Then after about 15 seconds, or more it says google chrome is not responding. The freeze can terminal anywhere from fifteen, to lx seconds. Commonly its like fifteen seconds, so it unfreezes for about 2 seconds, then freezes back upward, for another 15 seconds or more. Sometimes I'll have to wait for a whole minute or more. Its getting really abrasive, I've tried disabling all my extensions, I've tried uninstalling and re installing and uninstalling and re installing adobe flash. nothings worked. BTW i run on windows 8.one 64bit pro.
If anyone has a solution, information technology would be profoundly appreciated!

Re-create & Paste this into the search bar of Chrome: chrome://settings/resetProfileSettings

It will reset everything which will rule out any issues developed over time from using Chrome.

Non sure if I had exactly the same problem. It was completely freezing Chrome for me; I had to get Windows to kill the process. (It was, oddly enough, only YouTube that would freeze it; other HTML video sites were fine.)

Upgrading my Intel HD Graphics video driver to the latest version seemed to solve information technology. Or alternatively, since my system has both Intel and Nvidia video fries, forcing Chrome to run on the Nvidia bit also seemed to solve it.

I just bought a new laptop with intel hard disk graphics 5500 and nvidia geforce gtx 850m and have the problem where randomly subsequently 2, v, 10, 15 sometimes more than than half an 60 minutes of watching youtube whole google chrome would freeze and i would have to kill it in taskmanager or just with the close button but wait for 10 seconds earlier i tin open it once more.... So since after like 3hours of searching for answers i saw for the first fourth dimension someone maxim that he had intel and nvidia and that his solution had something to do with that fact!! COULD y'all please in more particular explain how did your youtube and chrome crash all go about and also crusade i'm not tech savvy (at all!) explain how tin can i switch or rather as you lot say force chrome to run on nvidia if it isn't already? cause i don't know AND also where can i check and update my drivers....please respond!!

This is a very common effect among Intel graphics 6000 users. The last 3 or so driver releases take non been playing well with Chrome. The last driver to work was 4080 commuter released in January. Intel releases 4243 driver few days agone. I am not going to upgrade unless I know for sure that the issue has been fixed.
